So what’s PARCC testing at my school got to do with Warren Beatty stumbling about dying in snowdrifts while Julie Christie lies in an opium den stoned staring at ceramics? For some reason(s), the end of Robert Altman’s McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) perfectly captures how I *feel and how the school looks to me these PARCC days. I’d love for Governor Martinez and PED Secretary (bona fide!) Skandera to walk with me through the halls on a testing day to explain exactly why this scene fits. Perfectly.
*By the way, this is an example of an “analogy,” one that would most likely not score very well on any PARCC test.
